the party is over

It's a war zone in SLO.

Why you ask? Because of Mardi Gras. The "riots" last year set off an avalance of efforts to stop the partying in a college town, that for whatever reason, has a huge Mardi Gras celebration.

So the gravity of the situation didn't set in until this afternoon as I was leaving the Business building after working on some homework with groupmates. As we're walking down the stairs, outside the huge windows, you can see tons of cops walking to the lecture hall. It's quite frightneing, not because cops are scary, but when there's over a hundred of them withing a 10 foot radius, it's never a good thing. I assume they were attending an orientation. California St in front of the Bus building was blocked off and empty when I first got there, but when I was leaving, the parking spots were filled with cop cars and other vehicles connected with authority figures. For some reason, I just had to call someone to tell them, so I called Tweetie.

Sorry...I'm being distracted by Best Week Ever on VH1....sooo addicting.

At work, things got crazy. Well, crazy in the sense that we were tripping out about being caught by cops who got too bored since there's an obvious surplus of them. It's like they're Nazis. Bicycle cops were riding on the sidewalks, in gangs, and just swarming areas and making people uncomfortable. There was a DUI checkpoint a street down from Jamba. Caused a little bit of traffic. I wish I had my camera, just so I could take a picture of all the craziness.

Hehe...I just saw a commercial. Go to the website. Mardigrasslo.com...lol the party is over. Note the sad mask.

All I know is I'm watching the news this weekend so I can see some police brutality.
